NkomaziTrust.org Community Trust - How BEE Should BE
Empowering the Community through BEE

Our Beneficiaries

The sole beneficiaries of the Nkomazi Community Trust are the now more than 6000 orphaned and vulnerable children and 300 community care-workers living in the Nkomazi District in Mpumalanga, South Africa who are registered on the database of Thembalethu Home Based Care (THBC) organisation.

THBC was founded in 1999 to establish home-based care for AIDS sufferers and orphans living in the 22 villages near Jeppe’s Reef in the Nkomazi district of Mpumalanga. The needs in this region are enormous and continue to grow as the AIDS pandemic progresses. It is estimated that more than 50% of the inhabitants are infected with HIV/AIDS, resulting in an average of 7 to 8 deaths per village per week.  Further, an estimated 85% of the half-a-million people living in this area  are unemployed.

Funds raised by the Trust are used to support selected interventions that directly benefit the children and their care workers. Existing programmes being undertaken by the Nkomazi Community Trust and/or THBC include:

·         Food parcels, clothing & blankets
