The Nkomazi Community Trust is a legally registered South African
Trust Fund under the authority of the Master of the High Court.
We are administered in compliance with generally accepted
accounting principles and our audited financial statements are open
to public inspection at our offices on weekdays.
Public Benefit Organisation registration number - 930025535
The Nkomazi Community Trust is approved as a public benefit
organisation by the South African Revenue Services and is exempt
from paying tax. In
addition, the Trust is authorised to issue Section 18(A) tax
receipts for donations to the organisation which are tax deductible
in the hands of its donors.
Corporate Governance
The Nkomazi Community Trust is governed by eight trustees in total -
four care workers from the community, two directors from
participating companies, one board member from the implementing NGO,
and the fund administrator.
The interests of the orphaned and vulnerable children are
represented by the community care workers acting in their capacity
of surrogate parents.
