Your BEE Credentials
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) encourages a holistic approach to empowerment that requires a considered strategy across all components of the BEE Codes. Thus black ownership alone does not generate sufficient BEE points to even get onto the scorecard!
As a fully black-owned enterprise that completely satisfies all the requirements of the BEE Codes of Good Practice, the Nkomazi Community Trust is empowered to confer BEE credentials on its business partners. Further, our qualification as a broad-based ownership scheme means that partnering companies acquire the maxium points available under three components of the Codes, namely Ownership, Enterprise Development and Socio-economic Development.
As a result, full-participation members of the scheme are able to attain Level 3 (110%) BEE status on the Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE) scorecard.
Those companies electing not to give up ownership may participate in the scheme on a limited basis, whereby they acquire additional points under the latter two components of the Code to supplement their existing BEE initiatives.
Most importantly, the Nkomazi Trust scheme accomodates the principle concerns of most small company owners by minimizing the degree of interference in the daily operation of the business, and by providing a simple means of exiting from the scheme should difficulties arise.
